Whether you prefer to cook, barbecue or explore local dining, you’ll have the flexibility to enjoy meals your way when you choose to stay at Firefly Nature Escape. The home features a fully equipped kitchen with gas cooktop, fridge, dishwasher, filtered drinking water and all essential cookware, crockery and utensils. A BBQ on the covered outdoor deck provides a relaxed space for casual meals surrounded by the rainforest. Due to our Daintree Rainforest location, we recommend purchasing groceries in advance and bringing them with you. The closest major supermarket is Woolworths in Mossman, with smaller local stores available for basic supplies and essentials.
For those wanting to dine out, the closest restaurant is at Heritage Lodge, offering lunch and dinner with views over Cooper Creek. For casual beachfront meals, Thornton’s Café at Thornton Beach is a short 7-minute drive and serves relaxed lunch and dinner options. For something sweet, the Daintree Ice Cream Company and Floravilla Biodynamic Ice Cream Factory are both popular stops. Additional cafés and restaurants can be found throughout Cape Tribulation.
Firefly Nature Escape is in Diwan, in the Daintree Rainforest. There’s limited local stores. We recommend bringing groceries with you from Cairns, Port Douglas or Mossman.
Locally grown tropical fruits and seasonal produce are available at Scomazzon’s Farm Store, just north of Mossman. Keep an eye out for the occasional roadside stall.
