The Daintree River Ferry operates daily from 6am to midnight. Please note: the Daintree is a wilderness area and there is no mobile reception during the drive. Limited mobile service is available once you reach Cape Tribulation, and Wi-Fi is available at Firefly.

1. Your Commitment As Guests
   Firefly is an off-grid house in the rainforest, which has been carefully designed and equipped to provide guests with modern comforts, including air conditioning. Solar power, battery storage and rainwater systems support a self-sufficient stay without compromising on convenience. To support sustainability, it would help us a lot if you can read, understand and commit to the following:
   • No hair dryers, straighteners or electrical appliances with heating elements. Firefly has an off-grid system that relies on battery power. These appliances will damage the power system irreversibly and replacement cost is $20,000. We think you look great just the way you are, embrace your jungle self!
   • Do not charge electric vehicles! Do not try! The high-power demand from high energy appliances breaks the connection between battery cells.
   • Do not flush anything but toilet paper, poo and wee down the loo! Firefly has its own mini-septic system, but does not have the ability to process tampons, plastics, wipes or anything other than human waste. Please use bin provided.
   • Barbecue. Please clean after yourselves and turn off gas bottle after every use.
   • Don’t leave taps or hoses running. We have limited water so please be conscious of shutting off taps after use.

   2. Our House Rules
   To help us to care for this special place and minimise our / and your impact on the surrounding environment, we would appreciate your adherence to the following house rules during your stay.

   • Please leave your outdoor shoes outside.
   • No smoking or vaping inside the house.
   • No pets are permitted in the house.
   • No parties or loud music, this is a quiet, nature-respecting space.
   • Close all windows at sunset, otherwise the forest’s insects will come inside.
   • The air conditioner will turn ON and OFF according to a preset timer. If you do not want it ON, please switch the power off at the power point.
   • Please use only eco-friendly products.
   • Respect wildlife — do not feed animals.
   • Always place hot cups and saucepans on placemats and not on wood benches to avoid burn marks.
   • Leave the fans running all the time including when you leave.
   • Leave the fridge on when you leave.
   • Turn all lights off when you leave.

1. Firefly Nature Escape House Layout. This architect designed wooden pole home is unique in design, comprising only one room, apart from the bathroom amenities which are separate from the rest of the house. It’s elevated to capture cooling breezes and ensure you are surrounded by the Daintree Rainforest foliage during your stay. It’s located on a 2.15 hectare private property, accessible on a forest-lined no-through road with a stunning stand of established fan palms extending all the way to the house. Enjoy no neighbors and total privacy during your stay.
2. What We Provide For Your Stay. We believe in living gently and prioritise organic products, natural materials and thoughtful choices that reduce our footprint. You’ll find minimal plastics, reusable essentials and eco-friendly alternatives throughout the spaces. We aim to offer a stay that is comfortable, conscious and connected to the rainforest around us.
   • Premium bamboo towels and bedding, chosen for their softness, breathability and gentle feel on the skin.
   • Organic bathroom essentials, including body wash, shampoo and hand soap.
   • Organic cleaning materials, including dishwashing liquid.
   • Pantry staples, including: Organic olive oil, rice bran oil, sugar, green tea and coffee; salt, pepper and milk; paper towels and tissues.

• Check-in is from 3pm. check-out is by 10am.
• Early check-in or late check-out is subject to availability and management discretion.
• Guests must not disturb other guests or neighbours.
• Only guests listed on the booking may stay overnight.
• Guests are responsible for any damage, breakages, theft, or loss during their stay.
• Management is not responsible for personal belongings or valuables.
• Disturbances or excessive noise may result in eviction without refund and additional charges.

• No refund for early departure.
• No-shows and cancellations within 48 hours of arrival are non-refundable.
• Bookings made through third parties are subject to their cancellation policies — please refer to them for terms and conditions.
